In this enlightening talk, Professor Brown will delve into the fascinating history of the “Villa Beaumarchais,” a refined estate constructed for Pierre Augustin-Caron de Beaumarchais between 1787 and 1791. Situated just yards away from the iconic site of the French Revolution’s outbreak, the Bastille, this elegant estate serves as a testament to the intersection of art, architecture, and politics during a pivotal moment in history.
